Hi! I’m Will Greatwich, a writer of fantasy novels, short stories and reviews. My work has appeared in Beneath Ceaseless Skies, Aurealis Magazine, and elsewhere.
My first novel, House of the Rain King, will be releasing in early 2025. It’s a standalone fantasy novel about a band of mercenaries caught up in a mythic flood brought by the god of rain. I’ll have more info about it soon; for now, you can sign up to my mailing list to get updates.
I also write a monthly review blog called Paperback Picnic, in which I excavate the lost classics of sci-fi and fantasy: the good, the bad and the weird. It’s free to read and you can also subscribe to get it in your inbox once a month.
About me
I grew up on the northern edge of Melbourne, Australia, on the lands of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation. I have lived here all my life. Much of my writing is inspired by the Australian landscape and our unique place at the far southern edge of the world. I have worked as a barista, a bookstore clerk, a delivery driver, an ironer and a chopper of beets in a beet-chip factory. I’m happiest with my current job as a librarian, in which I get paid to read books to children, teach coding, and run Dungeons & Dragons. I live with my partner and our border collie, who is too smart for his own good.
